The NFL announced, teams playing on Thursday nights will be outfitted with the vivid Color Rush uniforms tested last season.
The uniforms, manufactured by Nike, take the team’s current color scheme and turn up the brightness and, in some cases, feature the team’s secondary color head to toe.
Color Rush jerseys for all 32 NFL teams will be available for purchase. Even if the team is not playing in a Thursday night game this season. All proceeds from the sale of the jerseys will go to the NFL Foundation, which funds health and safety initiatives for youth football. The NFL reported that the first $500,000 raised go toward the replacement of youth and high school football equipment and fields impacted by last month’s floods in Louisiana.
Some claim the Washington Redskins have the gaudiest of all designs. However, spectators won’t be able to see them worn on national television since the Washington Redskins aren’t scheduled to play a Thursday night game this season. The Redskins’ Color Rush design features yellow from the shoulder pads on down.
The San Francisco 49ers all-black alternate uniforms return to the field for a Thursday night game against the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 6th, 2016.
NaVorro Bowman was one of 32 Nike-sponsored players involved in the promotional announcement. The Cardinals also elected to have black uniforms for their “Color Rush” selection, but because the 49ers will be the home team in Week 5, the NFC West foe will wear their traditional white road uniforms. Arizona will get to wear its black uniforms next season, according to Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com.
Peninsula loves the 49ers and all of us here are looking forward to a great season!
