It’s time once again to plan for a fun filled Fourth of July! In 2016, this popular holiday lands on a Monday, but it should still attract thousands of people to the waterfront area.
You can enjoy fireworks, activities all day at Pier 39 and a ferry ride around the bay.
Every year, San Francisco holds a large fireworks display over the bay. There are two sets of fireworks, synced, to allow you to get a glimpse from all around the area.
There are actually two sets of fireworks that are synced to light up entire bay. One set is at the end of the Municipal Pier and the other is held on barges in front of Pier 39.
Be sure to prepare for the events:
- Many parts of the SF waterfront are closed to cars (due to crowds) for the fireworks display.
- Head down early and use public transit whenever possible.
- Fireworks will start shortly before 9:30pm (or once it’s dark enough)
- The fireworks display typically lasts around 30 minutes.
So grab the entire family and witness the sky sparkle red, white and blue at Pier 39 during this years Fourth of July Celebration.
